Walter D. Adamczyk

Walter D. Adamczyk, of Warren, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at the age of 76. He was born May 21, 1948, in Hamtramck, Michigan, to the late Walter Stanley and Joanna Adamczyk. Walter was a graduate of Wayne State University with a degree in Economics. In 1968, he joined the United States Air Force where he honorably and faithfully served his country. He would go onto wed his beloved Shirley in 1971. After his discharge from the Air Force, Walter would finish his schooling and took on a job working for the United States Department of Defense, a career that lasted over 30 years. In his free time, Walter loved to go fishing in Lake St. Clair and other smaller lakes in Michigan, golfing, keeping his mind sharp solving Crossword Puzzles, and watching Sci-Fi movies. Another past time of his was antiquing; Walter loved to hop in the passenger seat and cruise with his friend Bill, stopping at different places along the way, with Walter always finding a good deal and smiling with excitement to tell his family about his finds. Walter also loved to travel. Twice a year, he and Shirley would take a trip down to Florida to soak up the sunshine and beautiful weather. Walter's faith was a very prominent part of his life as well. He was a devout Catholic who served the church for many years as an usher at St. Cletus before becoming a parishioner at St. Martin de Porres Parish in Warren, where everyone was blessed with his beautiful voice as a cantor and member of the church choir. Walter was a man who was well-loved by all and will be deeply missed by those who had the privilege to know him. Beloved husband of Shirley. Loving father of Phillip (Allison) Adamczyk. Dearest brother of Janice (Wesley) Wolak and Joanie (Roy) Keider. Also survived by many loving friends and relatives. Visitation Sunday 2-8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Rosary at the Wasik Funeral Home, Inc., 11470 Thirteen Mile Road (West of Hoover) Warren. Instate Monday 9 a.m. until a 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Martin de Porres Parish, 31555 Hoover (South of Masonic) Warren. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or the St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
