Virginia "Vincie" (nee Lucido) Serra

Virginia "Vincie" (nee Lucido) Serra passed away April 15, 2024 at the age of 91. She was born February 19, 1933 to Sebastian "Buster" and Frances (nee LaRosa) Lucido. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Serra. Loving mother of Rose (Michael A.) Simone, the late Fran Serra (Robert Mouton), and Virginia (Daniel) Donnelly. Preceded in heaven by her angel babies (Sam and Virginia). Proud Grandma of Michael J. Simone, Anthony (Kristina) Simone, and Nicole Donnelly and Great Granddaughters Eva and Ella Simone. Dear sister of Frank (Bonnie) Lucido, the late Jack (Eda) Lucido, the late Dominic Lucido, and the late Sam (Angela) Lucido. Loving daughter of the late Sebastian (Buster) and Frances Lucido (LaRosa). She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Deep in our hearts you'll always stay, loved and missed every day. Vincie was an avid golfer. She experienced the thrill of a lifetime getting a hole in one at Maple Lane Golf Club in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Her family was so proud when she won SIX GOLD medals in the St. Clair Senior Olympics — an event open to all seniors to complete against other seniors country wide. Vincie loved coordinating events, whether they were themed parties, Italian dinners or fashion shows. She did everything, on her own from getting the models, menu, decorations and making centerpieces. She attended Beauty school, in the 60s, to become a licensed Cosmetologist. She sold photos for Santa at Eastland, worked at the SCS Chamber of Commerce and made floral arrangements at a florist shop. There were ALWAYS freshly baked homemade chocolate chip cookies, in the house, when friends and family stopped by to visit. Vincie was very artistic and creative. She painted watercolor paintings, canvas paintings, and hand painted china dish sets and jewelry holders. We are forever blessed and want to say, thank you to our mother for being there for all of us. Mom was priceless and will forever be in our hearts with loving memories. Vincie will lie instate on Saturday, April 27th from 9 a.m. until the time of her Funeral Mass 9:30 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Community, 40501 Hayes Road (between 17 Mile & 18 Mile) Sterling Heights. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
