Roger D. Archambault

Roger David Archambault, February 4, 1966 - April 16,2026. Roger Archambault, 60, of Chesterfield Township, passed away on April 16, 2026, after a courageous battle following a massive stroke in late March. Roger was born on February 4, 1966, in Royal Oak, Michigan, to the late Gail and Emery Archambault. A fighter to the end, Roger had previously overcome many health battles, including throat cancer in 2016 and the severe complications from its treatment. His pugs were the love of his life; Bosco, PJ, and Armani preceded him in death, with Armani, who lived to be 23 years old, passing shortly after Roger's stroke. Roger's newest addition, Sadie, a mini poodle, was able to be with him at the AccentCare Hospice in Harper Hospital in Detroit during his final days (special thanks to the staff for the extra love and care). He passed peacefully with his sister, Dorene, and her husband, Doug, and long-time friend, Penny, by his side, while Sadie comforted him, laying on his lap. Known for his infectious sense of humor and quick wit, Roger, who attended Anchor Bay High School, enjoyed working on his guitars, collecting treasures, decorating his porch for Halloween and Christmas, and took great pride in his landscaping, which also allowed him to get close with his many neighbors. A dedicated sports fan, Roger loved cheering on all of the Detroit sports teams. He was especially proud the St. Ignace Saints girls and boys basketball teams coached by his sister and brother-in-law. Roger found immense joy in his family’s achievements, specifically proud of his nephews Jackson and Jonny and all of their accomplishments pursuing their dreams. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Dorene and Doug Ingalls (St. Ignace, MI), and his nephews Jackson and Jonny Ingalls; his uncle Dennis (Suzanne Rodgers) Archambault; his aunts Joan Archambault (Daniel Mercier) Lee and Marie "Annette" Thompson; and many cousins. He is preceded in death by his brother, Rodney (2012), and parents, Gail (2002) and Emery Archambault (2023). Roger will be profoundly missed by his family, neighbors, and many friends from Chesterfield area to the Upper Peninsula. He cherished his time up north and as one of his Yooper friends says - Roger the Man the Myth the Legend. If you hear rumbling in the sky, do not worry—it is just Roger rocking a guitar. Visitation for Roger will be on Saturday, May 2, 2026 from 11:00 am - 1:00 p.m. with a 1:00 p.m. funeral service at the Wasik Funeral Home, Gendernalik Chapel 35259 23 Mile Rd New Baltimore, Michigan
