Mary Loraine Bradley

Mary Loraine Bradley, resident of Ira Township, Michigan, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 18, 2026, at the age of 94. Born on October 28, 1931, to Michael Thaddeus and Stella (Sredinsky) Basinsky in Monarch, Pennsylvania. Loraine was a devoted wife to Wilfred “Bill” Betker Bradley, with whom she shared a beautiful marriage of over 63 years until his passing on December 18, 2020. Loraine moved from a coal mining town in Pennsylvania to Detroit in her high school years. She attended Cass Tech where her natural music abilities flourished. She was employed as a switchboard operator at Michigan Bell and General Motors while raising a family. Although she was humble about her many achievements, she was a gifted and naturally talented musician, artist, and writer of wit and wisdom. She always had a knitting project and started a “final” project many times. She proved to be fearless and willing to try and fail, try harder, and succeed in most things. She encompassed the meaning of a "can-do spirit." In times of trouble, she would simply remind those to "Be Cheerful!" Most importantly, Loraine was a faithful servant in her commitment to her Catholic Faith, Jesus Christ, and the Blessed Virgin Mary. She attended Mass daily on EWTN and she prayed the rosary fervently. Bill and Loraine lived a simple, fruitful life doing all things together, especially camping. Loraine, always stylish, packing white slacks for the camping trip and managing to keep them clean. They created loving memories that will be shared around the campfire for another generation. Grandparents to 22 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, with a 16th on the way. Loraine is survived by her daughters, Denise Carmichael, Michele (David) Sabella, Renee (Bruce) Sellars, Colette Bradley, and Claudine (David) Ball. Loraine expressed her genuine gratitude to the Residential Hospice team who cared for her tenderly and became part of her family. A funeral mass in her honor will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Immaculate Conception Church, Ira Township, where she will lie in state from 10:30 am until the service begins at 11:00 am. Following the mass, committal services will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Ira Township. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in loving memory of Loraine to the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN). Loraine will be deeply missed and affectionately remembered for her loving compassion, kindness, and generosity. Our Mum will remain forever in our hearts.
