Leocadia Sitko

Leokadia Maria Sitko passed away August 4, 2026 in Rose City at the age of 90 years. Leokadia was born February 1, 1936 in Czarnocin (woj. Świętokrzyskie) to Jakub & Marianna (Niedziela) Paczkowski. Leokadia is predeceased by her parents, late husband Marian Sitko (1995), son Włodzimierz (2018), and her brothers (Stefan, Jozek, Staszek & his wife Stanisława, baby Jan, Mietek, Janek & his wife Janina). Leokadia is survived by her Sons: Andrew & Robin (Lewis) Sitko and Marek & Marysia (Szostak) Sitko; Grandchildren: Lisa Sitko, Wally & Jen (Bartolone) Sitko, Krysia (Sitko) & Paul Kudla, Alexandra (Sitko) & Edward Kuebitz, Jessica (Sitko) & Dawid Dechnik; Austin Sitko. Great-grandchildren: Belle, Rocco, Alina, Maksymilian, Magdalena, Lydia, Violet and Jakub. Leokadia is also survived by family in Poland including Marysia Chabros, niece, Jozef & Baśka Paczkowski, nephew, and their children and grandchildren in Czarnocin and Kazimierza Wielka. Along with family in Chicago including Beata (Antonio) Roppo. Leokadia met Marian and they married June 13, 1955. After their three boys were born, they headed to America in 1966 on the Stefan Batory ship. They arrived in Montreal and traveled by train to Detroit. They lived on Trombly St, in Poletown, until they moved to St. Clair Shores in 1980. Everyone, young and old, called her Busia. Busia would laugh when people older than her called her that name, but she loved it. "Busia" is, in fact, the most endearing word you could call the greatest mom, mother-in-law and grandma and great grandma. It's perfection. There are no words that can truly capture the kind of woman Leokadia was or the hole her absence leaves in our hearts. Our beloved Busia was the heart of our family, making everyone feel loved, welcomed, and well fed. Her kitchen was the heart of her home and where countless memories were made. Her love was felt in every meal, every hug, and every tradition she passed down. Her garden was filled with flowers, cucumbers and tomatoes. Busia loved to cook and share with her family. It gave her great joy to see her family enjoying the delicious food. Busia, you deserve your eternal reward for a life well lived and loved. We can imagine, with joy, your reunion with your son and husband and how happy you are to be reunited with your family. We love you dearly now and forever. May you rest in peace in the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ. Visitation Sunday 3-8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. Rosary at the Wasik Funeral Home, Inc., 11470 Thirteen Mile Road (West of Hoover) Warren. Instate Monday 9:30 a.m. until a 10 a.m. funeral mass at St. Florian Catholic Church, 2626 Poland Street, Detroit. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
