Helen D. Kozacki

Helen Kozacki, age 101, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of faith, tradition, and deep devotion to her family. Born on August 4, 1924, in Detroit, Michigan, Helen spent her life in Hamtramck and Eastpointe, where she remained closely connected to her Polish heritage and community. Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward Kozacki; her children, Thomas Kozacki and Christine Schneider; and her son-in-law, Kurt Schneider. She is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Paul Schneider (wife Melina, children Victoria and Carlos), Mary Schneider (husband David, children Walker, Zachary, and Phoebe), and Erik Schneider (wife Sarah, son Kurt). She took immense pride in her family and especially cherished her great-grandchildren, whose accomplishments she celebrated with joy and enthusiasm. A proud Polish American, Helen was bilingual and deeply rooted in her traditions. She was an accomplished home chef and baker, known especially for her Polish cooking, which brought family together for countless meals and holidays. She faithfully upheld cherished traditions, honoring both her heritage and her faith. Helen was a devoted Catholic whose faith guided every aspect of her life. She was an active member of her church, dedicating her time to the Ladies Guild. Known for her sharp mind and talent with numbers, she was trusted and respected by all who knew her. She was also a gifted seamstress, creating beautiful clothing for her family over the years. Her creativity and attention to detail were evident in everything she made. Helen will be remembered for her strength, unwavering faith, and deep love of family. Her life was a testament to devotion, resilience, and the importance of keeping faith and family at the center of all things. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Family and friends will gather Friday, March 27, 2026 beginning at 9:30 am until the time of her Funeral Mass at 10 am at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, 38750 Ryan Road (south of 17 Mile Road) Sterling Heights. Helen will be interred next to her husband in Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to assist with funeral expenses may be directed to Mary Schneider.
