Deanna H. Petrous

Deanna Petrous was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 9, 1937 to Alfred and Valeria Dehring. She passed away at her residence in Lake Orion on March 25, 2024 at the age of 86. Deanna accepted a position with the FBI immediately following her high school graduation. A job she was very proud of and always shared stories about. Deanna met Larry at a Skiwi dance, and in 1963 she married her 6ft tall, Polish, Catholic man. Soon after they started our family. She was very proud of her kids Jeff, Roger, Shari, and Andy. Always attending sporting events, volunteering within the schools and hosting holiday gatherings. Deanna’s love for her family only grew as each child married. Family was everything to Deanna. Larry and Deanna had the greatest support group. From cousins as best friends, siblings, the Skiwis, church members, exercise/coffee drinking ladies, neighbors, and did we mention the Skiwi’s? In 1999 Deanna became a grandma. (Gma we call her when we text). Brooke, Sage, Cooper, and Evan were the light of her life. She proudly displayed photos, wore shirts with their names, and used their handmade mugs on the daily. Deanna had a passion for crafting. She kept busy knitting, making personalized greeting cards, sewing pillowcases, doll clothes, winter hats etc. She also had a love for Starbucks mochas, peeps, Baileys, and ice cream with nuts. Deanna, however, did not love vegetables. There would never be a green bean on her plate. Above all Deanna’s favorite activity was finding a bargain. Never paying full price for anything. Clearance racks and garage sales were her favorite. She did not leave the J.C. Penny’s clearance rack until she found something for each grandkid. When Larry and Deanna retired, they spent their winters in Florida. As well as traveling around the state. If you would consider traveling as visiting casinos. Deanna stayed loyal to the nickel slots. Larry would get a little more adventurous and one time he did hit a nice jackpot. Most times they just enjoyed packing a little cooler with snacks, filling their travel cups with coffee, and getting on the road. She is the beloved wife of the late Larry. Loving mother of Jeffrey (Suzanne) Petrous, Roger (Amy) Petrous, Shari (Kevin) Crocker, and Andrew (the late Amy) Petrous. Very proud grandma of Brooke Crocker, Sage Crocker, Cooper Petrous and Evan Petrous. Dearest sister of Daniel Dehring. A celebration of Deanna's life will take place on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Noon at Ike's Restaurant 38550 Van Dyke (s. of 18 Mile Rd.), Sterling Heights.
