Dale Roy Rossow

Dale Roy Rossow, 87 a lifelong resident of Ira Township passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at home following a lengthy illness. Dale was born to Roy and Mary (Carter) Rossow on April 26, 1938. He graduated from Marine City High School in 1956 where he participated in many sports. In 1957, he joined the United States Army, where he served the special forces in Germany. Mr. Rossow was a dairy farmer on the Centennial Rossow Farm for many years until the cows were sold to the government. Until his retirement, he drove double tandem trucks hauling gravel. After retiring, Dale enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking and sports. Especially the Michigan Sate Spartans-Go Green! He was also a member of the National Rifle Association and the Fair Haven Fraternal Order of Eagles #2784, which was affectionately referred to as "The Farm". The F.O.E. hall was always open to friends and family to stop by from some good conversation, food and a cold beer! Dale is survived by his beloved and devoted wife Nancy (Mahn) whom he married on February 3, 1967. Together they had two sons; Benjamin Roy and Jason John who predeceased him (Benjamin in 1967 and Jason, a MSU Graduate in 2002). He is also survived by his brother-in-law; Alger Mahn, sister-in-law; Lia McClintock. Additionally, Uncle Dale was survived by his "special" nieces and nephews, who loved him dearly and were frequent visitors and very much a part of his life throughout the years. Dale was also predeceased by his parent's; Roy and Mary Rossow, Sister; Beverly (Paul) Vogeland, parent's-in-law; Fred and Marguerite Mahn, siblings-in-law; Laverne Mahn, Richard McClintock and Karen Mahn. Dale's wishes were to be cremated. His Funeral service with military honors will be at St. John Lutheran Church 51161 Maria St. (New Baltimore) on Saturday, Feb. 14th at 11 am, memorial visitation for Dale will begin at 9:30 am until the time of service at the Church. He will be interred at Oakwood Cemetery in New Baltimore, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Nancy would like to thank several close neighbors who helped in so many ways to care for Dale over the last several months. Dale, you may have lost the battle, but you won the War! You can finally rest in God's eternal peace wit your beloved sons; Benji and Jason.
