Clifta "MICKEY" Williams

Clifta "MICKEY" Williams, of St. Clair Shores, pased away April 17, 2023 at the age of 78. She was born January 2, 1945 in Granite City, Illinois to Clifford and Rosalee (nee Belton) Ellis. Mickey was a champion stockcar racer in the Powder Puff Women's League. In the 1960's and 1970's Mickey could be found at the different stockcar racetracks around Michigan winning race after race giving all the other drivers a real challenge. She also enjoyed bowling and was on a league for many years. She also travelled all over the country with her sisters, aunt and close friends entering different women's bowling tournaments. She loved amusement parks, especially all the roller coasters. She also loved her old country music. John Denver, Kenny Rogers and Marty Robbins were her favorites. Mickey also had her exact routine of favorite tv shows each day. In between her shows she would sit at her computer and play her favorite games. In 1980 she married the love of her life, Phillip Williams. They enjoyed golfing and gardening. They were always together and spending time together. When Phil got sick, Mickey was by his side taking care of him until his death in 2005. Mickey knew all too well of caring for a sick loved one. She also took care of her widowed mother for over 20 years. Mickey definitely dealth with her share of heartache, but she also had a lot of joy and happiness in her life. Although she never had children of her own, by choice, she was the "Favorite Aunt" to all her nieces and nephews. She loved taking them all on vacation to Washington DC, Virginia Beach and many other places. Along with enjoying spending time with her nieces and nephews, her happiest of time was spent with her sister and lifelong best friend, Lou. They shared a one bedroom apartment and lived together, shared a car and basically shared a life together. To say she will be truly missed barely begins to express the void that her family will feel. Mickey was predeceased by her beloved husband Philip, of 25 years; her parents, Rosalee and Harry Zechman II and Clifford Ellis; her sister, Jennie (the late Fred) Pachla and her brother, Harry Zechman III; nephews, Ronald and William Grant and also by her great niece, Jadyn Rose. Mickey is survived by her dear sister and best friend, Lou (the late Ronald) Grant;. Precious aunt of Debra Walton, Vicki Walton, Ray (Liz) Zechman IV, Dariene (Josh) Watkins, Holly (Ashely) Latta and adored great aunt of Cassidy Phillips, Leigha Latta, Beckham Latta and Olivia Rose who will arrive in late April. Family and friends will gather Friday at 12 noon until a Funeral Service at 1 p.m. at the Wasik Funeral Home, Inc., 11470 Thirteen Mile Road (west of Hoover) Warren. Burial to follow the funeral service at Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak.
