Zayden Michael Jones

Zayden Michael Jones, 6 years old, born on January 16, 2016 passed away unexpectedly on April 16, 2022. Zayden courageously fought through the challenges of a traumatic brain injury as a result of shaken baby syndrome occurring in July of 2016. He will be remembered for his resilient strength and bravery. He fought through adversity with a smile on his face and took every opportunity to experience life to his fullest. Zayden was the sweetest boy whose smile melted the hearts of everyone who knew him. He undoubtedly left his mark on this world and was an inspiration to the thousands of people who followed his journey worldwide with their love and support. Zayden was a member of the TinySuperheroes group that beautifully embraced all the superpowers he exemplified. He had an immense love for all things Disney, baths and swimming, arts and crafts and above all else cuddling with his mom. Zayden was the most comfortable in the presence of others while being held, rocked and patted. Our family was not expecting the loss of Zayden so suddenly. We are devastated by this unimaginable loss and will feel the absence of Zayden forever. He was the purest soul and an absolute joy to be around. He defied so many odds throughout his journey and is the true definition of a miracle. He will be forever missed. Zayden is the beloved son of Kari Jones; treasured grandson of Gene and Mary Jo Jones; dearest nephew of Ryan (Kristin) Jones and Kim (Tyler) Schmittler; loving cousin of Sawyer and Ryleigh Schmittler and Weston and Baby Boy Jones; cherished great grandson of Joann Brutyn, Irma Jones and Mary Jones. Zayden is further survived by his many loving great aunts and uncles and his countless friends. Zayden was preceded in death by his great grandfathers Robert Brutyn and Eugene Jones, his great aunt Cathy Sroka, his great uncles Tim O'Neill and Don Trepanier and his fellow superhero friends. Zayden's family would like to extend their immense gratitude to Children's Hospital of Michigan, specifically Dr. Nadia Tremonti and the entire PICU team of doctors and nurses for their exceptional care and dedication to Zayden throughout the past six years.
