Steven S. Kathan

September 19, 1970 - April 17, 2022

Steven “Styck” Kathan passed away suddenly on April 17, 2022, at the age of 51. He was born on September 19, 1970 in Detroit. Beloved son of Kathleen (Junga) Osadchuk and the late Michael D. Kathan. Cherished brother of David (Machell) Kathan. Adored and proud uncle of Taylor and Kyle Kathan. Loving nephew of Michael Junga, as well as countless friends, colleagues, former players, and his dogs Tanner and late Kody. Steven graduated from Anchor Bay High School in 1988. After a couple years of college, he joined the family business selling automobile parts. He eventually started his own business with his brother, David. Styck enjoyed sports, concerts, traveling, and most importantly coaching baseball. He began coaching little league at the age of 16 and continued to coach different levels throughout the last 30+ years. He loved the game and constantly poured his heart and soul into his teams. He also poured his heart into his players. He was the type of coach to stay in touch throughout your entire career and even life. He was not only a coach, but also a mentor and friend. He will be deeply missed by this community. Visitation for Steven will be on Saturday from noon until 6:00pm with a 4:00pm Words of Remembrance at the Wasik Funeral Home – Gendernalik Chapel, 35259 23 Mile Rd. New Baltimore, MI.
