Sonja Sue Soper

December 20, 1946 - August 21, 2021

Sonja Sue Soper (McComber), age 74, a resident of New Baltimore, passed away on August 21, 2021 after a long battle with COPD. Sonja was born on December 20, 1946 in Albion, Michigan to Edward and Phyllis McComber (Parker). She was a devoted wife for 55 years and a loving mother to Angela (Mark) Matthews, Amy Soper, and Dustin Soper (Angie). She was a beloved grandmother to Kayleigh Butler, Adam Matthews, and Emily Matthews. She was a dear sister to Michael McComber (Elaine Tanner) and aunt to Jon McComber. She was adored by her many friends who loved her like a sister. Sonja had a very generous spirit and a desire to help others. She had a great love for animals - especially horses and dogs. Sonja was a talented artist, calligrapher, seamstress, and baker. When she was well, she enjoyed traveling, interior decorating, cooking family meals, and spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered for her kind words, the smell of her perfume, her chocolate chip cookies, the Halloween costumes she handmade, and the sound of her laugh. A memorial visitation 3-7pm (Service at 6pm ) on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Gendernalik Funeral Home, 35259 23 Mile Road, New Baltimore, Mi. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Michigan Humane Society or Colby's Crew (Horse Rescue).
