Sam E. Dombrowski Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Sam E. Dombrowski, of Butman Township, passed away on March 22, 2021 at the age of 78. He was born June 6, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan to Edward and Mary (nee Lonchar) Dombrowski. Sam was an entertainer and loved to make people laugh. He could walk into a room not knowing a single person and by the time he walked out he knew everyone, they knew him and felt as though they had known each other for a long time. Being a Disc Jockey for many years, being the life of the party came very natural for him. He definitely was in his element in larger crowds and at the center of attention. It was no surprise that wherever he went he happened to know somebody. Sam also enjoyed fishing, hunting and singing. Family was very important to Sam. Being together and sharing stories and laughing was his true joy in life. To Sam you didn't have to be related to be family. Everyone was family to him. He was a grandpa to all the kids in the neighborhood. To know Sam was to love him. His absence will surely leave a void and family gatherings will be a bit different, but his legacy will carry on with his children, grandchildren and those who knew and loved him. Sam is survived by his longtime sweetheart and companion, Joanne Swatowski. Beloved dad of Linda Dombrowski, Edward Dombrowski, Gregory Dombrowski, Christopher (Tammy) Dombrowski, Theresa Dombrowski-Saavedra, Jonathon (Nicole) Dombrowski, John (Jennifer) Swatowski, Lisa Swatowski, Robert (Melisa) Swatowski and Brandon (Nicki) Swatowski. Loving grandpa of 25 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Mary Ann Roy, Michael, Delores Nace and the late Charlotte and Ted. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Visitation Friday 2-8 p.m. at the Wasik Funeral Home, Inc., 11470 Thirteen Mile Road (west of Hoover) Warren. Instate Saturday 9:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass 10 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, 32000 Mound Road (south of 14 Mile) Warren. * Due to the current health concerns and in accordance with the MDHHS mandate a maximum of 25 people are permitted a time and a mask or face covering must be worn while in attendance.
