Rowena Lenhausen

Rowena Lenhausen, 86, died Saturday in her New Baltimore home. Rowena was a retired English teacher at Anchor Bay High School. She also was the unofficial grammarian for the late night crew at the Detroit Free Press. When the copy desk chief editor got stuck on a grammar point, he would call Rowena. She would give him the answer and then, always the teacher, would recite the rule. Rowena is survived by her husband, Don and 8 children, Brett (Tammi), Rhett (Debbie), Julie, Cabrelle (Rob) Phelps, Greta (Kevin) Furlong, Jack (Amanda Saponaro), Sara (Dean) Jobes, Karla (Steve) Hagemann, 23 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. A memorial will be held Friday, October 29th with a service at 4:30 pm and visitation from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm at Little Camille's By The Green in Casco, Michigan.
