Rosie Lee Boswell (Johnson) was born September 18, 1946 to the late Branch Lee and Bertha M. Johnson, in Mileston, Mississippi. Rosie was the eldest of 10 children. Her husband, Charles Boswell; son, Joseph Boswell; parents, Branch and Bertha Johnson; sister, Blanche Johnson and brother, Willie Lee Johnson preceded her in death. Rosie was educated in the Mississippi Public School System. She also furthered her education at Wayne County Community College. Rosie accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized while on a trip to Washington D.C. with her longtime friend Mildred Taylor, which preceded her in death. In 1991 she joined Apostolic COGIC located at 6117 Woodward in Detroit, Michigan under the leadership of the late Bishop Gilbert Lee Allen, where she remained a devoted and faithful member up until her transition. She also devoted her time fellowship as a long standing active member of New Creation Christian Fellowship Church located in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Her love for the Lord was immeasurable. She greeted you with such a beautiful smile and her love for the Lord on her lips at all times. She wanted her whole family saved and for all to know about God's saving grace. She lived and breathed the word. From the early morning praise and worship to the late night studying her Bible. Rosie began her career with the Detroit Public School System as a Paraprofessional. She assisted teachers in the classroom, supervised students outside of the classroom and provided administrative support for teaching, until she later retired. Her role for being supportive did not stop with her job, she was supportive of her family as well.She lived her life unapologetically with the utmost class Style and grace.Cause she could definitely dress!!! She loved shopping her suit, hats and shoes. She also loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grands. She also loved to travel and catch a good western or black and white movie. Rosie made her transition on April 11, 2020 at St. John Hospital Macomb-Oakland Hospital. She leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters, Toni Boswell and Mary Boswell-Whitaker; one son, Cedric Boswell; five brothers, Samuel Johnson (Lynn), Booker Johnson, Branch Lee Johnson, Nathan Johnson and Tyrone Johnson (Sheila); two sisters, Dorothy Williams (Harvey) and Pauline Harris; a devoted sister in law, Sherry Ann Boswell, 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Final farewell Saturday 11 am - 2 pm with a Private Family Service at 2 pm. Burial will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery with her husband.
