Richard "Rick" Hempel, of Macomb, passed away November 16, 2021 at the age of 62. He was born September 15, 1959 in Detroit, Michigan to Gerald and Joann. Rick was an avid sports enthusiast. He was a true fan of all his hometown Detroit teams. Although he wasn't always happy with the outcome of the game or their win-loss record, he proudly supported the Pistons, Red Wings, Tigers and even the Lions. He was able to stand tall and hold his head high supporting and rooting for the Wolverines. He was a huge University of Michigan fan. Rick also loved to golf. He was always joking around. He was able to start a conversation with anyone, a stranger or an old friend, and have them laughing in no time. He was a people person and loved to be around people. Rick was a tender hearted family man. His pure enjoyment in life was his family. He cherished all the laughs, family gatherings, whether the holidays or a casual visit and the stories and jokes that were told. Many memories were made over the years to create a strong legacy that will be carried on through the generations to come. He loved his family and friends very much, he was loved by each one of them very much and will truly be missed by all the lives he has touched and been a part of during his life. Devoted husband of Debbie for 30 years. Loving father of Jeremy (Jennifer) Scicluna and Brandie (Jason) Hosko. Proud Papa of Hailey Scicluna, Collin Scicluna, Nora Scicluna, Alyssa Hosko, Bryce Scicluna, Liam Hosko and Clayton Hosko. Dear brother of Greg (Charlene) Hempel and brother on law of Gale (Luther) Barlow, Louis (Dennis) Cundde, Vega (Carl) Stocker and Michael (Luann) Schmitz. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousin and friends.
