Raymond Garavaglia, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother and Friend, passed into his Heavenly Father's arms on December 21, 2021, just 3 weeks short of his 91st birthday. He leaves behind his loving wife of 67 years, Dolores (Krapp), his children: Gregg (Debbie), Nancy (Rick) Allam, Lynn (Bob) Parks and Mark (Jenelle). He also leaves behind his sister Mary Ann (Michael) Maiorano, 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Frank and Caroline (Lovati) Garavaglia and his sister Josephine (Frank) Colombo. Ray led a faith filled life centered around God and family. Born in Detroit on January 12, 1931. After serving in the Korean War, he returned home and married his sweetheart, Dolores, at St. Catherine Church in Detroit on May 28, 1954. He and Dolores raised their family in Harper Woods. After retiring from the Stroh Brewery they moved to Shelby Township, where they are members of St. Therese of Lisieux parish. Ray enjoyed reading, playing cards, going to lunch with his buddies, his Tuesday morning calls with his sister and spending time with his family, especially loving on his great grandchildren. Ray was a humble, unassuming man with a big heart. His passing leaves a huge hole in our family and our hearts, but he led a beautiful life and leaves behind so many wonderful memories. Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. Amen A Memorial Luncheon and Fellowship at a venue yet to be determined will follow the Memorial Mass.
