Patrick M. Chianetta was born on June 12, 1942 in Detroit to Matteo and Anna. Patrick passed away on March 4, 2022. Patrick attended St. Juliana Grade School in Detroit, Michigan and served as an altar boy. He went on to Servite High school and graduated in 1960. He played basketball for Servite and had the name "Bananas" for his speed on the court. He also played football and was responsible for the winning touchdown at the Good Fellows football game where the top Catholic school played the top public school. He gave the winning football to his cousin, Mario, who considered Patrick his hero. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Detroit Institute of Technology, master’s degree from University of Michigan, and educational specialist degree from Wayne State University. His teaching career was spent at Utica High School where he taught vocational and business classes where he was responsible for providing jobs for his students to start them on their career path. He loved horses and worked at both the DRC and Hazel Park racetracks while still teaching at Utica High School. His life was centered around helping others and has made an impact in so many people‘s lives. Family gatherings and celebrations were the highlights of his life. Loving father of Dina (John) Panos, Cindy Chianetta, and Patrick Chianetta II. Former husband of Janet. Dear grandfather of Chris and Andre. Loving brother of Rose Pikor and Trina Cole. Visitation will be Wednesday 3-8 PM at the Wasik Funeral Home, Inc. 49150 Schoenherr Rd. (n. of 22 Mile Road), Shelby Twp. Instate at church Thursday at 9:30 AM until a 10 AM funeral mass at St. Therese of Lisieux, 48115 Schoenherr Rd, Shelby Township.
