Millie Ann Connor Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Millie Ann Connor, of Warren, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022, at the age of 103. She was born on September 1, 1918 in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Louis and Anne Solce. Beloved wife of the late James L. Dearest mother of James G. (Delphine) Connor, the late Susanne Connor, the late Helen C. (Richard) Whalen and the late Patricia A. Connor. Loving grandmother of Deborah (Dennis) Whalen-Krumholz, Michelle (Russell) Cutino and Todd (Amber) Whalen. Precious great grandmother of Jacob, Amelia, Arabella and Danielle Krumholz; Ashley, Mackenzie and Vincent Cutino and Henry, Cormic and Murphy Whalen. Mille Ann Connor led a life devoted to her God, her country, and her family. Millie graduated from high school in 1934 at the age of 16 after being promoted from the sophomore class to senior class where she graduated with honors. She began her work life as a bookkeeper at Carlson Studios where she met her husband James. The happy newlyweds bought a home in Detroit a block away from St Raymond Church and school where 3 of their 4 attended. Only Suzanne, the oldest, did not attend St. Ray's due to a heart ailment. Millie cared for Suzanne until Suzanne passed in 1956. Simultaneously, Millie was a housewife (and mother of 3) while also volunteering at St Raymond’s. After her husband passed in 1978 Millie went back to work as a bookkeeper at Kozak Distributors for more than a decade which was then followed by a paid stint at St. Raymond where she retired at the ripe old age of 94. Millie’s 103 yrs laid her witness to much history. Millie experienced the revolution of everything from auto to air travel/space travel and many geopolitical events such as a world war as well as Pearl Harbor and the attack on the Twin Towers in NYC. Millie also lived through the Great Depression, a few recessions, two pandemics and the advent of technology. Millie loved her family, puzzles, numbers and equations, traveling the world, history, space exploration and reading her prayer cards daily up until her passing. Millie Connor was blessed with God-filled days, a very loving family and a brilliant mind full of history which she loved to share. Millie was a very generous and giving person who had a great life worth revering and celebrating forever.
