Lorraine P. Tucker

Lorraine Patricia Tucker, 83, of Chesterfield Township, Michigan passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on March 3, 2022. Lorraine was born to John and Irene Szczepaniak (Sepanak) on August 3, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan. She was the fourth child of John and Irene (Murawski). Lorraine was married to Gerald Don Tucker (deceased 2001) on February 8, 1960. Lorraine had five children: Richard Thomas, Cindy Ann Smith, Thomas Lee Tucker (wife Cindy), Laura Lynn Franklin, and Ann Marie Carducci (husband Adam). Lorraine’s grandchildren included Richard Thomas (deceased), Michael Smith (Kristen), Lisa Kobielski (Kevin), Michelle Zhuravlev (Pavel), Garrett Tucker, Adam Tucker, and Tyler Franklin. Her great grandchildren included Mikayla Thomas, Jacob Kobielski, and Jonathan Kobielski. Lorraine was an avid gardener, sewing enthusiast, DIY extraordinaire, experienced crafter, and loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Despite her large family, Lorraine provided support and love for each of her children and grandchildren. Lorraine and Gerald worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for their kids. Lorraine was very proud of her children. She had a passion to make each grandchild feel special and important. “She was the best teacher when it came to crafts and sewing. Mom was patient while showing me how to thread a sewing machine. Mom was a mentor to me and my sisters, teaching us that it is important to take care of your family. I always looked forward to our time spent crafting and drinking coffee,” according to daughter, Ann Marie Carducci. “She was the best Mother-in-Law that a person could ask for; I will miss the conversations I had with her,” Adam Carducci stated. While Lorraine’s family grieves her loss, they are choosing to remember Lorraine in a way that honors her spirit and provides personal closure for those that were closest to her. Lorraine was very close to her family. A private family service will be held in her honor on Monday, March 7, 2022, at Wasik Funeral Home in New Baltimore, Michigan.
