Kathy Zanley Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Kathy Zanley, of Beaverton and formerly of Warren, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2019, at the age of 74. She was born November 11, 1944 in Highland Park, Michigan to the late Joseph and Helen Kowalski. Beloved wife of Dennis for 49 years. Loving mother of Dennis Bryan Zanley. Dearest sister of Elaine Berardi, the late Joseph Kowalski, and the late Michael (Pam Nelson-Kowalski). Dear sister-in-law of Al (the late Shirley J.) Zanley and Geraldine (the late Marvin) Resztak. Cherished aunt of many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, and a great nephew. In her late teens and early 20's, Kathy was very involved in the USO, where she would eventually meet her husband Dennis. During her time as a resident in Warren, she worked for 15 years as a para-pro in the Van Dyke School System. She loved drawing and making homemade greeting cards, making sure birthdays and Christmas were celebrated with cards with her personal touch. In addition to holiday cards, Kathy would regularly make and send cards to the children at St. Jude's Children's Hospital, a cause that was very dear to her. She also loved her dogs; Kathy spent close to 20 years with her canine companions, Lady and Sandy, and was a strong supporter of the Michigan Humane Society. In the warmer weather, Kathy and Dennis enjoyed spending much of their time going to classic car shows together, showing off their 1940 Ford. Memorial visitation Saturday, September 7, 2019 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., with a 2 p.m. Memorial Service at the Wasik Funeral Home, Inc., 11470 13 Mile Road (West of Hoover) Warren. In loving memory of Kathy, donations may be addressed to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or the Michigan Humane Society.
