Joseph Watson Kinter Jr. Devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather Joseph Watson Kinter Jr., at the age of 88 passed away November 11th, 2021. Joe was born October 20th, 1933 in Indiana, Pennsylvania. Joe is predeceased by his father Joseph Watson, mother May, and siblings, Ron, Don, and sister Mary Kay. He is survived by his wife Barbara (Sloan) of 61 years and five children: Joseph III (Annette), Matthew (Cheryl), Anne Fitzgerald, Michael (Maria) and Jay (Robin). Also, his three siblings Bob, Michael, and Elinor. Joe was blessed with thirteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Joe continued his education and graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He also served in the US army in the 101st Airborne division as a paratrooper for two years. Opportunity brought him and Barbara to Michigan in 1960 where he began his gratifying teaching career at Anchor Bay Schools. He taught junior high school science and math. He continued his education by obtaining two master's degrees at Eastern University to enhance his love of teaching. Joe was remembered by students to bring fun and enthusiasm to his classroom. He engaged with them by encouragement, understanding and kindness, a known "favorite" by many. Always sharing his knowledge and was an inspiration to many young minds. Joe was an incredible patient man showing compassion and love to his family, friends and students. Joe also enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, canoeing, gardening, coaching, refereeing wrestling, and time keeping for the basketball and football games. He was passionate about his family and multiple trips back home to Pennsylvania and fishing excursions in Canada, giving his children the gift of beautiful memories to cherish for a lifetime. Family wishes to honor his memory by making memorial contributions to Anchor Bay Sports Boosters or the VNA Blue Water Hospice.
