Jerry Soroka Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Jerry Soroka passed away on June 1, 2020, at the age of 63 in Chesterfield. He was born on November 4, 1956 to Wasyl and Janina (Maslana) Soroka in Highland Park. Beloved husband to Darlene (Stochmal) for almost 39 loving years. His chosen daughter Shelly Casler. Dear brother of John (Patty) Soroka. Jerry is survived by many nieces, nephews and Godchildren. Jerry met his wife Darlene, when he started working for her parent’s business Hub Men’s Shop in Hamtramck. From his previous experience from Hub Men’s shop, he worked as a manager at John R Men’s Wear which later closed and then opened his own store JR Men’s Wear Big & Tall in Hazel Park. Jerry currently worked for the MGM Grand Casino in Detroit as a Card Dealer. In his spare time, he formed JaDaRio Designs and organized what he loved doing the most with his wife by his side; planning motorcycling trips, the blessings of the motorcycles, Thunder in the Smokeys and season bike night with his friends. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2-8 p.m. at the Wasik Funeral Home, Inc., 49150 Schoenherr Rd. (N. of 22 Mile Rd.) Shelby Twp. Funeral service on Friday at 11 a.m at the funeral home. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Detroit. Memorial donations may be made to the Amvets Post 57, 19730 Harper Ave., Harper Woods, MI 48225 to support the Veterans. Please keep in mind that, we are required by law to a 10 people limit allowed for visitation or for the funeral service.
