James Scott "JT" TerHaar

October 9, 1946 - November 2, 2021

James "JT" TerHaar passed away on November 2, 2021 at McLaren Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township, Michigan. James was born in Holland, Michigan to James and Janet TerHaar. JT spent over 40 years with Chrysler Corporation as a Maintenance Supervisor retiring in 2006. He was also very involved with the Alhambra and the Masons as well as a drummer for the Shriner's band. JT could often be found watching NASCAR and fishing as well as spending time at the beaches of Florida where he and his wife Elaine owned a vacation condo. JT was an avid golfer who developed a unique cross handed grip. He could hit a ball as far and and straight as most golfers who used a more traditional grip. Above all things JT loved his grandkids and cherished the time that he spent with them. He is the beloved husband of 52 years of Elaine. Loving father of Scott (Denise) TerHaar and Danielle (Ronald) Gorney. Very proud PaPa of Rece James Gorney, Joseph James TerHaar, Devon Joseph Gorney, Dillon Scott Gorney and Emily Ann Lindemann. Dearest brother of Jack TerHaar, Susan (Jeff) Sartor, Mike (Mary) TerHaar, and the late MaryJo Klomp and Richard TerHaar. Visitation Friday 1-8 PM with a 6 PM Rosary at the Wasik Funeral Home, Inc. 49150 Schoenherr Rd. (n. of 22 Mile Rd.), Shelby Twp. Instate Saturday 9:30 until 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Lawrence Catholic Church 44633 Utica Road (s. of Hall Road), Utica, Michigan.
