Irene D. Sierpien

May 3, 1940 - January 25, 2022

Irene D. Sierpien, of Sterling Heights and formerly of Warren, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at the age of 81. She was born May 3, 1940 in Vass, North Carolina to the late John and Alma Chavis. Beloved wife of Larry. Loving mother of Elise Sierpien and the late Scott. Dear sister of Linda (Larry) Garner, Della (Joe) Hord, the late Anne (the late John) Barber, the lateCarol Phillips, the late Rose (the late W.M.) Slawson, the late Viola (the late Sam) Burwell, the lateJohn (the late Julia) Chavis, the late Clayton Chavis, and the late Homer Chavis. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Irene enjoyed going bowling, dancing, and loved to travel with Larry. They were especially fond of Mexico, St. Thomas and their cottage in Oscoda. Faith was very important to Irene as she was an active member of the Daughters of Isabella and the Red Hat Society. She was also remembered as a “2nd Mom” to everyone; no matter who they were Irene always made them feel welcome and like a part of her family. Irene was a well-loved woman and will be dearly missed. Visitation Thursday 2-8 p.m. at the Wasik Funeral Home, Inc., 11470 Thirteen Mile Road (West of Hoover) Warren. Friends and family will gather at the funeral home Friday at 12 noon until a 12:30 p.m. funeral service. Interment St. Clement Cemetery in Center Line.
