Eileen M. Norkiewicz Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Eileen M. Norkiewicz, of St. Clair Shores, passed away August 27, 2021 at the age of 83. She was born January 7, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan to Paul and Mary Ann Wasik. Eileen enjoyed her social life. She was always on the go and loved being with people. She especially enjoyed her active life with the St. Clair Shores Seniors and their bus trips to the Casinos and The Solanus Casey Center in Detroit. She enjoyed the trips Up North but was so happy that she was able to take her Dream Trip to Hawaii. She truly enjoyed music. Concerts at Memorial Park were always a summer pleasure for Eileen. She enjoyed many different types of music, but her true favorite was Detroit's own, Bob Seger. As soon as Old Time Rock and Roll started playing, Eileen was in her glory and everyone knew not to bother her until the song was over. Eileen was strong in her faith. Her devotion to her Catholic faith was very apparent being very active with different groups earlier in her life. From singing in the choir, taking communion to the sick and homebound to just attending mass every weekend, she selflessly volunteered as much time as she was able. Educating her girls in the Catholic School was very important to her. Above all of Eileen's social activities and groups, her true love and joy was spending time with her family. Babysitting her grandchildren on New Year's Eve became a tradition for her and probably meant more to her than anyone ever realized. She cherished the memories that were made and the time spent together. Her values and life stories she shared with her family insure that her strong legacy shall live on through her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and now also to her great great grandson and those yet to come. Although her gentle soul is now at rest her memory will live on forever. Loving mom of 3 daughters, Christopher & Debra (Bridges) Poisson, Laura Norkiewicz (John Cooley) and Kathleen (Stephen) Morris. Precious grandmother of 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. Visitation Thursday 2-8 pm. at the Wasik Funeral Home, Inc., 11470 Thirteen Mile Road (west of Hoover) Warren. Funeral Mass Friday 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church (formerly St. Germaine), 28301 Little Mack (corner of Martin) St. Clair Shores.
