William Joseph Verbeke

William “Billy” Joseph Verbeke passed away peacefully at his home in Chesterfield, MI after a life lived with positivity and ambition. He was surrounded by his loving family. Billy was born June 10,1985 in Grosse Pointe, MI. He leaves behind many, who are close and dear to his heart. He is survived by parents Dianne and Dan Verbeke; sisters Danielle Roybal (Jeff, Sophia and Isabella) and Rayna Turow (Robert, Riley, Ryder and Raelynn); He is survived by grandfathers William Boucher and Gerald Verbeke; his uncles Eric Boucher (Lourie), Steven Boucher (Tracey), Christopher Boucher (Lisa) and his aunt, Pam Karas (Brad). He is survived by his adored cousins Ryan Boucher (Carolyn), Justin Boucher, Erica Fearn (A.J.), Joe Vicari, Steven Boucher, Nick Boucher, Nick Alfonsi (Autumn), Austin Alfonsi, Sarah Boucher, Andrew Karas, Matthew Karas, Alyssa Karas and many other beloved aunts, uncles and cousins. Billy is preceded in death by his grandmothers JoEllen Boucher, Pat Verbeke, and Barbra Hemeryck. Billy will be remembered as a beautiful soul who left a lasting, loving impact on anyone he encountered. From a young age Billy was a complete outdoor enthusiast. He lived for summer and swimming in his pool. He adored family camping trips, swimming in various lakes, climbing lighthouses and embracing any adventure that came his way. Billy had the honor to participate in Michigan’s Special Olympics for years 1995 and 1996 where he attained various gold and bronze medals for physical performances. Billy’s school career was within Macomb Intermediate School District. He attended Bovenshen and eventually completed his school career at Glen Peters in 2011. From that point, Billy joined community programs and continued to shed his smile and positive light with anyone he encountered. One of the best attributes of Billy is that regardless of any limitation his eyes and smile would light up the room. Anyone who knew him remembered him for his infectious smile and pure love in his eyes. Visitation for "Billy" will be on Thursday, August 3, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until a 12:30 p.m. funeral service at the Wasik Funeral Home-Gendernalik Chapel, 35259 23 Mile Rd., New Baltimore. Memorials may be made to the Verbeke family to support a local family in need.
