William M. McNabb

William Melvin McNabb 1929 – 2023 William M. McNabb of Chesterfield, Michigan passed away peacefully at the Visiting Nurses Hospice Home in Marysville, Michigan on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 surrounded by his family. William was born on July 23, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan to his parents John Arthur and Mary McNabb. William joined the U.S. Navy in 1947. He was stationed on the U.S.S. Dayton until his end of duty in 1950. During his time of service, he was awarded the Navy Occupation Service Medal. On May 10, 1952, he married the love of his life, Patricia Ann Miller, whom he is survived by as well as his daughters, Laura McNabb, Elizabeth (Gary) Smith, Kathleen (Scott) Yoder, Mary (the late Marc) Boyer, and the late Terese (Thomas) Spybrook. He has 6 surviving grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, Gary Smith and his children Gary and Ally Smith, John McNabb and wife Christine and their daughter Morgan, April Reed-Barton and her daughter Madison, Nathan McNabb and his wife Breanna and their two children Isabella and Jaxon, Kyle Boyer– Keela Leath and their two daughters Mia and Korrine, Tricia Williams and her husband Joe and their two children Jayden and Aniya. William was a God, family, friends and country kind of man. His life was full. His career with Michigan Consolidated Gas Company was fulfilling. His career with the company started in sales and advanced him through to management and finally labor negotiation. This career afforded he and his family a rich life and full retirement spent between Cheboygan, MI and Port Richey Florida. It was often said by those who knew him, that he was “an all around good man.” He loved people, parties and travel. His greatest love was the game of golf. He was a mentor to anyone he knew that held a golf club. He will be missed by many. Visitation for William will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a 6:30 Scripture Service on Monday, March 27, 2023 at the Wasik Funeral Home – Gendernalik Chapel located at 35259-23 Mile Road in New Baltimore. Instate at 10:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at St. Mary Queen of Creation Church located at 50931 Maria Street in New Baltimore. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers (https://maryknollsociety.org/), Visiting Nurse Association & Blue Water Hospice (https://vnabwh.org/), Wounded Warrior Project (https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/) or a charity of your choice.
