William J Krul

William J. Krul of Chesterfield passed away on June 26, 2022, at the age of 80, at the Henry Ford Hospital in Clinton Township. He was born on March 10, 1942 to William and Mary (Starczynski) Krul in Detroit. At the age of 2 years old, William J. lost his father William Krul during the World War II. Beloved husband of the late Marlene (Martin) Krul who passed away on October 1, 2021. Loving and devoted father of William, Michael (Chris), and Lisa Krul. Loving and proud grandfather of 5 grandchildren and great great grandfather of 2 great grandchildren. William is predeceased by his daughter Suzanne (David) Allmendinger, and his parents Donald and Mary Wolf. Bill spent 26 years - 1970 - 1996 with Macomb County Sheriff Department and retired as Lieutenant. During his years at Macomb County Sheriff Department he held many positions. Corporal in charge of Crime Prevention. Sergeant in charge of Marine Division and then Road/Jail Lieutenant. He retired in 1996 and moved on to command and run the Marine Division in St Clair County for 14 years. He was given the of rank Lieutenant to command the Marine division. He finally fully retired in 2010. While at Macomb County Sheriff Dept, he spent nearly 20 years as director / organizer ( with alot of help from numerous people) and participated in the Torch Run for Special Olympics, which had numerous officers from Michigan ( a few from O.P.P in Canada) reserve Macomb County Deputies and numerous volunteers who ran non stop from Copper Harbor Michigan to Sterling Hgts. In this event, each participant ran a 5 mile leg. Again, this was non stop run. So some people ran in the middle of the night, in rain or shine. This event was very important to Bill as his oldest daughter Lisa is mentally handicapped. Upon Fully retiring in 2010 Bill focused his attention on Polish Genealogy and family history. He was a member of the Polish Genealogy society, the Knights of Columbus and was a Church Lector. Fitness and having good nutrition was a priority in life for Bill as he also ran in several "Detroit Free Press" Marathons. Bill also loved camping and being outdoors Proud member of the Knights of Columbus. Visitation for William will be on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a scripture service at the Wasik Funeral Home, Inc., 35259 Twenty Three Mile Rd., New Baltimore. Instate on Friday from 10:30 a.m. until a 11:00 a.m. funeral mass at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ira Twp. In lieu of floral arrangements, Bill's favorite charities were The Macomb County Special Olympics, www.somi.org or Diabetes Organization of Michigan ADAM@diabetes.org, Diabetes Michigan Chapter send donations to P.O.
