Norman Anthony Bonaudo Sr. April 7, 1942 – March 16, 2026 Norman Anthony Bonaudo Sr., 83, of Shelby Township, Michigan, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Norman lived a life defined by hard work and a deep devotion to his family. To his grandchildren, he was affectionately known as “Papa,” and to everyone lucky enough to know him, he was one of a kind. For 61 years, Norman was the devoted husband of Dolores (Mary) (Farchione) Bonaudo. Their marriage was a testament to patience, partnership, and a love that had been built steadily over a lifetime. Together, they raised a family that stood among the proudest achievements of his life. Norman dedicated 25 years to Ford Motor Company, retiring as an Experimental Climate Control Supervisor. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a collection of sayings his family will carry forever; perhaps none more beloved than his dinner table wisdom: “Whoever eats the fastest gets the most.” Norman was an avid camper, fisherman, and clock collector who found genuine peace in the outdoors. When he wasn’t on the water, he could be found solving fictional crimes during a CSI marathon. His love for tinkering earned him the family nickname “MacGyver”. Norman was a sponsor and coach for those fighting alcohol addiction. He was a perpetual rock to those facing a difficult journey. Norman was preceded in death by his father, Dominic Bonaudo; his mother, Caroline (Dellamora) Bonaudo; and his sister, Yvonne (Bonaudo) Lewis. He is survived by his wife, Dolores (Mary); his children, Norman Bonaudo Jr. (Karen), Keith Bonaudo, and Belinda (Bonaudo) Hellebuyck (Matt); his grandchildren, Brandon, Kyle, Isabella, Angelina, and Isaac; his cherished fur baby, Charlie; and his grand fur babies, Jimmy, Cooper, Ren, and Tilly. Norman Anthony Bonaudo Sr. was a loving husband, devoted father, and a Papa who made life feel steadier just by being in it. He fixed what was broken, built what was needed, laughed when it was called for, and loved without condition. The clocks in his collection will keep ticking, and every one of them will mark the time he is missed. A celebration of life mass will be held at SS.
