Lois Ann Woods

Lois Ann Woods (nee Woodrow), age 96, entered her eternal life early the morning of October 26, 2021. Lois passed surrounded by her daughter Pamela and son and daughter-in-law Jeffrey and Marsha. Lois had been in hospice care at her home, where she lived with her son Jeffrey and Marsha. Lois was born on December 28, 1924, in Detroit, Michigan to her parents Edward and Eunice Woodrow (nee Baggett). Lois was the fourth child of five from Edward and Eunice. Lois had 2 elder sisters Doris and Erna, an older brother, Walter and a younger brother, Alan. Lois was to have a third brother Billy, who died in childbirth. Lois attended Montieth elementary school, in Detroit and the Detroit School of Commerce High School. Lois graduated in 1942 and immediately went to work as an office clerk at a Detroit trucking company. It was there that she met her future husband, Frank Joseph Woods, a returning veteran from WWII, in 1946. Lois and Frank were married on June 5, 1948 at Sweetest Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Lois and Frank were loving parents to 4 children, Jeffrey and Marsha Woods, Paul and Philomena Woods, Robert Woods, Pamela and Gary Lamore, and daughter-in-law Deborah Woods. Lois was a loving Grandmother to Jonathan (Michelle) Helmic, Jennifer (Alan) Vesperman, Michael (Amanda) Woods, Melissa (Jack) Gray, James Woods, Ryan Woods, Alexander Lamore and Nicole Lamore. Great grandmother to Jacksen and Leo Gray, Liliana Vesperman, Lila and Logan Woods. Lois also will be missed by her sister-in-law Rosemary Lucas, many nieces, nephews and friends. Lois was predeceased by her husband Frank, in December, 1995 and siblings and spouses, Doris Woodrow, Erna (Dave) Guyer, Walter (Betty) Woodrow, Alan (Norma) Woodrow and brother Billy, nieces Jacqueline Slezak, Sandy Baumgartner and nephew Ed Griffith. Visitation Friday, October 29th from 3 – 8 pm at the Wasik Funeral home 49150 Schoenherr Rd, Shelby Township, Michigan 48315. Funeral Service Saturday, October 30th at Sweetest Heart of Mary where Lois will lie is state at 9:30 am before a funeral mass at 10:00 am.
