Kathleen A. Hislop

Kathleen Ann Hislop passed away peacefully with her children at her side on June 23, 2026, at the age of 89 in Shelby Township. This was a significant day in that she was reunited with her beloved husband on their 70th wedding anniversary. She was born on March 28, 1937, Easter Sunday, to Edward and Bonnie Eades. Beloved wife of the late James A. Hislop Jr. Loving mother of Karen (John Clark, deceased), Vickie (Bob) Drohan, James III (Arlene), Lisa (Dan) Agresta, and Janet (Dave) Scott. Proud and loving grandmother of Paul (Catherine), Alec (Vanessa), James IV, Jonathan (Van), Jason, Jimmy (Fiancé Rachel), Jamie, Julianne, Danielle, Jonathan (Sandy) and Kathryn (Cody). Dear great grandmother of Olivia, Emma, Avalee, Natalie, Lucas, Belle, Reid, and “Baby to be.” Together with her loving husband she was a devoted mother who raised her five children with a beautiful balance of strength and grace. Her passion for cooking was a gift she constantly shared with her family. She created endless and lasting memories around the dinner table, a beautiful legacy of love and food that her children enjoy and are honored to carry on today. Known for her open heart and open doors, her love of hospitality shined through as she welcomed family and friends into her home, always making them feel special and loved. She had an undeniable flare for fashion and design, and she will be remembered not only for her inner grace but for her timeless beauty and love of fashion that reflected her vibrant, joyful spirit. She generously supported several charities that were near and dear to her heart, St Jude Hospital held a truly special place in her life. Kathy was known at St. Therese Catholic Church for her service with the Funeral Luncheon Ministry held there. She gave back to others in countless ways. She is now rejoicing with Jesus and with her beloved husband and will be dearly missed. “Her children rise up and call her blessed.” Proverbs 31:28 Her family was her proudest achievement, her lasting legacy, and her greatest joy. We will forever miss the brightness of Mom’s beautiful smile and the pure joy of her laughter. Though you are no longer standing by our side, the pure love you poured into us could never be undone by time or distance. Your spirit is permanently stitched into our souls, and your memory will be fiercely cherished in our hearts forever. Every beautiful moment we have shared is a treasure we will keep locked safely in our hearts. Rest in peace, our beautiful angel… Visitation Sunday, June 28, 2026 from 2-8 p.m. with a 7:00 pm rosary at the Wasik Funeral Home, Inc., 49150 Schoenherr Rd., (N. of 22 Mile Rd.) Shelby Township. Instate in church on Monday, June 29, 2026 at 9:30 am until a 10:00 am funeral mass at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church, 48115 Schoenherr Rd. (S. of 22 Mile Rd.) Shelby Twp.
