Jacqueline Marie Koscielski Born August 5, 1936 in Detroit, MI Deceased March 29,2026 in Greensburg, PA Jackie was the first born of 9 children to her parents Chester S and Dominica H (Bromberg) Koscielski. A devout Catholic, she lived a very active life of servitude and devotion to her church and family. Following graduation from Felician Academy, she became a Kindergarten Teacher at Immaculate Conception Parish until it closed. She also assisted in decorating the Church for all the holidays and holy days. Following the closure, she did 14 years of secretarial work for the Leer Corporation as well as doing housekeeping for several of the parish priests at her new parish in Hamtramck. Being the eldest of the family Jackie was her mother’s right hand in raising her younger siblings. From babysitting and changing diapers, to ironing dress shirts and blouses for 6 of her younger siblings, she did it all. Shopping, Traveling and Decorating were her favorite things to do. Hobby Lobby, Boscov’s, English Gardens and Bronner’s are really going to miss her. She loved going to visit her Neice and Nephew in New England where she would take in all the sights and activities Massachusetts and Vermont have to offer, especially the “lobsta”. Her numerous Birthday trips to Frankenmuth for shopping at Bronner’s, topped off with a chicken dinner and a glass of “Cold Duck”, at the Bavarian Inn, were always welcome. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Robert T, Norman C., Gary R. and sisters, Janet A. (Jurczyk) and Carole D. (Hasse). She is survived by her brothers, Ronald F. (Florence) of Warren, MI and Eugene H. (Susan) of Greensburg, PA, sister, Judith B. (Portugal) of Garden City, MI and sister-in-law, Christine B. (Piegdon) of Bullhead City, AZ along with numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her best friend and caregiver, Monica Chinchila of Clinton Township, MI. Remember Jackie when you see a “Red Bird” or hear a Polka! She earned her Angel Wings taking her to rest in eternal peace in God’s Kingdom. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation in her name to St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Wasik Funeral Home, Inc. 49150 Schoenherr Rd. (n. of 22 Mile Rd), Shelby Twp. Instate Thursday from 10:00 am until an 10:30 am funeral mass at Our Lady Queen of Apostles 3851 Prescott Street, Hamtramck, 48212.
