Frank Passalacqua

Frank Passalacqua was born on June 1, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan, and passed away on December 21, 2015 in Clinton Township at the age of 93. Beloved husband of the late Dominica Passalacqua. Beloved father of four children, Rose Ann Frank (Randy), Paul Passalacqua, Jacqueline Busch, and Marion Young (David). Beloved grandfather of four grandchildren, DeAnn, Robert, Melissa, and Theresa, and three great grandchildren, Ashley, Noah, and Delilah. Dear brother-in-law of Jenny Haddad. Both his father and mother were born in Sicily; they immigrated to the USA, thus making the rest of their children first generation Americans. Frank was the first in his family to graduate high school. Frank served as Fireman First Class in the United States Navy during World War II. He served on multiple naval vessels. He was honorably discharged from military service on January 20, 1946. He married Dominica Misuraca on July 27, 1946. Their marriage continued until her death on April 9, 2015. Frank worked at Ford Motor Company for several years. Next he worked at Chrysler Motor Company where he earned certification as a Tool Maker. He enjoyed working with the engineers to create customized tools and equipment. He retired from Chrysler. He loved crafting various items with his hands. He established a workshop where he made equipment for listening to music and fashioned wood into furniture and other useful objects. He chose his projects with great care by analyzing the blueprints. Also, he fashioned a surround sound system to enhance his listening pleasure. Frank delighted in the sport of bowling. He played in leagues and was awarded several trophies. He continually searched for the perfect grip for his bowling ball by filling the holes then drilling new ones. Frank’s four children asked what he would like for a birthday present. He replied with, “I’d like a new bowling ball because I’ve drilled so much that it won’t hold together anymore.” Frank regularly attended mass at Catholic churches all of his life. He attended and made charitable contributions to St. Isidore Catholic Church in Macomb Township, Michigan. He traveled on vacation to Hawaii, Las Vegas, Arizona, and Texas. Upon seeing the vastness of the Grand Canyon, he said, “It was just a big hole.” He prized his Mother’s marinara sauce and frequently mentioned, “No one can make a sauce like Momma.” Frank had a sweet tooth. He enjoyed munching on Italian cookies, cannoli, biscotti, and of course milk chocolate. In gratitude, from all those whom you love . . .
