Frances Marie Knepp

Frances Marie Knepp, age 73, of Chesterfield Township, Michigan, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026 with her daughters Heather and Hope by her side. She was born on January 31, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Antoine and Margaret DeClercq. Frances was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose greatest joy in life was caring for those she loved. She was the beloved mother of Connie Holt, Heather (Craig) Newman, Carrie Orvin, and Hope (Robert) Morphew. She was the proud grandmother of Sara-Danielle (Michael) Hites, Madelaine (Lawrence Czarnik) Newman, Christian Newman, Nathan Morphew, and Gracie Morphew, and the cherished great-grandmother of Artemis Hites. She is also survived by her siblings, Theresa Weise and William DeClercq. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Antoine and Margaret DeClercq; her husband Ronald, her brothers, Gerald DeClercq and Michael DeClercq; and her parents-in-law, Dean and Hattie Knepp. A gifted homemaker and creative spirit, Frances found peace and happiness tending to her beautiful gardens, where she could often be found nurturing flowers and enjoying the outdoors. She was an exceptional cook who delighted in preparing meals that brought family and friends together around the table. Her love of cooking extended far beyond her own kitchen, as she traveled extensively throughout the world and even attended cooking classes in France under renowned chefs, experiences she treasured and often shared through the wonderful meals she prepared. Her creativity was evident in everything she touched. Frances was especially known for the elaborate handcrafted Santa Clauses she lovingly created, decorating her home with them and generously giving them as treasured gifts to family and friends. Each creation reflected the care, patience, and love she poured into everything she did. Above all else, Frances will be remembered as the very best mom, Granny, and friend. Her unwavering love, generous heart, warm hospitality, and countless cherished memories will remain with all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy lives on through the family she adored and the lives she touched with her kindness. Visitation will be held Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Wasik Funeral Home, Inc., 49150 Schoenherr Road (north of 22 Mile Road), Shelby Township. Interment will follow at Glen Eden Memorial Park Cemetery, 35667 West Eight Mile Road (east of Newburgh Road), Livonia.
