Edward Steven Manes

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Edward Steven Manes, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left this world on February 21, 2025, at the age of 59. Born on April 17, 1965, Edward was a vibrant spirit whose life was characterized by love, laughter, and a passion for adventure. He is survived by his loving wife, Carla Manes, with whom he shared a beautiful marriage for 33 incredible years. Together, they built a family that was the heartbeat of Edward's life. He is also survived by his two devoted daughters, Courtney (Jacob) Serra and MacKenzie Manes, who were his pride and joy. Edward's role as a grandfather to his two beautiful granddaughters, Lennon and Francesca Serra, brought him immeasurable happiness and fulfillment. He was known as “Papa” and cherished every moment he spent with them, creating memories that will last a lifetime. Edward was the cherished son of Margaret Ann Stevens and William Joseph Manes, who preceded him in death. Brother to William Manes, Linda (Pat) O'Leary, and John (Margaret) Edwartowski, and uncle to several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. His enduring love for family and friends was evident in all aspects of his life. A man of many interests, Edward was known for his adventurous spirit. He found solace and joy while spending time on his boat, Mandara, where he embraced the tranquility of the water. He had a deep passion for hunting and was an avid Michigan Football fan. Edward's humor and wit made every gathering brighter, and his courageous and warrior-like spirit was truly one of a kind. His yellow labs—Mari, Mya, and Emmy—were constant companions, providing him with love and joy throughout his life. As we remember Edward, we honor the legacy of love, courage, and laughter he left behind. His humorous tales and witty remarks will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Edward was a warrior in every sense of the word, facing life’s challenges with a brave heart and an infectious smile. Edward's funeral will be held at Wasik Funeral Home, located at 49150 Schoenherr Rd., Shelby Township, MI 48315. Visitation will be held on February 26, 2025, from 2:00 - 8:00 PM with a sharing of memories at 7:00 PM. Memorial Service to be held at Wasik Funeral Home, on February 27, 2025 at 11:00 AM. In-state at 10:30 AM. We invite all who knew and loved Edward to join us in celebrating a life so beautifully lived.
