Douglas J. Schultz

Douglas J. Schultz, 60, of Chesterfield, MI, passed away on January 13, 2023 after complications due to a heart attack. Doug was born on July 4, 1962 to James and Genean Schultz in Anchorage, Alaska. Early in his life, Doug was raised with his large family in Mt. Clemens Michigan where he attended Washington Elementary and later on Mt. Clemens High School. After graduating with a degree from the College of life, Doug went on to have a very long and fulfilling career at Hodges Supply in Pontiac, Michigan. Starting in the warehouse and eventually moving in to commercial plumbing supplies and sales where his natural mechanical inclination and outgoing personality would prove invaluable over the many years of his career. Doug understood that family was one of the integral parts of a life well lived and that you had to take the good with the bad. He was fortunate to experience unconditional and all accepting love with his wife Jamie, granddaughter Lillie, son Justin, stepsons Christopher and William and his many sisters and brothers that will carry on forever. Keeping busy at all times you would see Doug out golfing, traveling, helping others, catching up with friends, tinkering in the garage and spending quality time with his adoring granddaughter, Lillie. Doug’s generous and loyal spirit has touched so many around him throughout his life. He has been an unconditional pillar of love and strength for every member of his family. This gift was always shared amongst his extensive group of friends as well. Doug was a collector of many things in his life and his largest collection was his collection of people. In his 60 years, Doug has touched the lives of so many around him with his kindhearted, giving and especially accepting nature. He knew and cherished the value of family and true friends, something that many will never experience. His passing will leave a great emptiness in all that he knew and loved, but the memory of his smile, kindness and laugh will live on forever. Doug was predeceased by his parents James Schultz and Genean Schultz, Step Father Vincent Landon and siblings Lynne Marie Schultz, Doreen Schultz, Micheal Schultz and Scott Schultz. Doug is survived by his loving wife Jamie Schultz, granddaughter Lillie Schultz, son Justin, step-sons Christopher and William Shoemaker, father and mother in law Bill and Donna Tosh, brother in law Jim Tosh, sisters Tina [Steve] Robinson and Sherry [David] Costa, nieces Lisa [Mike] Schram and Katrina [Justin] Tokarski, nephews Michael G. Schultz, Micheal V. Schultz, Stephen [Erika] Robinson, Jesse Schultz and several great nieces and nephews as well. Visitation will be at Wasik Funeral Home in New Baltimore, MI on Friday, January 20th, 2023 from 1 – 6 p.m. with a memorial service at 6 p.m. Wasik Funeral Home is located at 35259 23 Mile Rd, New Baltimore, MI 48047.
