Dolores V. Moceri

Dolores Moceri (nee DiMaggio) September 21, 1933 - March 17, 2023. Dolores was the first born of Anthony and Marie (nee Christopher) DiMaggio. She grew up in Detroit, later moving to East Pointe and Shelby Township, Michigan. Dolores graduated from Southeastern High School in Detroit at the age of 16, having been double promoted while attending Foch Intermediate School in Detroit. She continued her education attending business school specifically learning how to operate a comptometer machine that she used for her job in the payroll department at Ryerson Steel Co. Dolores had a strong work ethic. She worked many years preparing tax returns for clients of Heemer, Klein, and Co. a well known accounting firm in Warren, Michigan. Dolores also worked for over 30 years at DiMaggio's Jewelers with her brother Joe. She kept his books and assisted with sales, while continuing to do tax returns for clients. Dolores relished meeting and talking with her clients whether preparing their income taxes or helping customers with jewelry purchases. She had a beautiful smile and a keen intellect. Dolores enjoyed knitting, sewing, baking, gardening, and dancing. She always had music playing in her home. She loved and spoiled every dog that she had over the years. Her last 3 Shelties were all named Major. Dolores married Sebastian Moceri in 1952 they were married for 61 years. They socialized with lifelong friends in the Nottingham Sportsmans Club. Dolores and Yono are the loving parents of Kim (Don) VanLander and Michael Moceri. She is the proud Noni of Donald, Christopher, and Carly VanLander and sister to the late Joseph DiMaggio and Darlene (Jim) Beltz. Viewing will be held on Thursday from 10 Am until 1 PM with a Funeral Service beginning at 1 PM at the Wasik Funeral Home, Inc 49150 Schoenherr Rd. (n. of 22 Mile Rd.), Shelby Twp. Dolores will be entombed with her husband at Resurrection Cemetery at the Mausoleum of the Evangelists.
