David A. Pelkey

David Allan Pelkey, of Fraser, Michigan, passed away peacefully in his home on April 5, 2025, at the age of 50. He was surrounded by the love of his wife, Tina, and two daughters, Abigail and Jessica. Born on February 24, 1975, David was the cherished son of Dennis and Margaret Pelkey. He spent his formative years in a loving family alongside his sisters, Jennifer and Beth, creating enduring memories through family trips up north, camping excursions, and countless other treasured moments. Even from a young age, David displayed a strong work ethic, securing his first job at El Charro before his sixteenth birthday. On his sixteenth birthday, his ambition was evident when he promptly purchased a neighbor's brown Grand Prix, a testament to his inherent drive and passion for life. Following his graduation from Fraser High School in 1993, David embarked on a journey of continuous learning and development in the realm of mechanics. His early engagement with tasks such as automotive repair and oil changes evolved over time, ultimately leading to the experience of driving a race car at the Michigan International Speedway. Throughout his life, David's profound interest in cars and speed remained a constant, significant source of happiness for him. In 1997, David found his other half, Tina. Together, they built a life filled with love and partnership. During this time, David dedicated 19 years to Bosch, serving as a valued Logistics Manager. Their journey together was further blessed by the arrival of their two beloved daughters, Abby and Jess. David was a devoted family man, finding immense joy in shared moments, whether it was watching their favorite television programs such as Law and Order, The Floor, or Organized Crime, engaging in games of Fortnite, Mario Kart, and other board games, embarking on camping trips and vacations, or simply exploring new food experiences together. David was skilled at many, and truthfully any, hobbies, most notably bowling and photography. A skilled bowler, he proudly achieved three perfect 300 games and one 298 game, a passion he shared with his mother and wife. In more recent years, David discovered a talent and love for photography. His captured images beautifully reflected his own loving and passionate nature. Anybody who knew David can attest to the amount of pride he took in not only his own work, but also everything his daughters and family did alongside him. David is survived by his devoted wife, Tina Pelkey; his beautiful daughters, Abigail and Jessica Pelkey; his beloved parents, Dennis and Margaret Pelkey; his loving sisters, Jennifer Pelkey and Beth Distefano (nee Pelkey), Dom Distefano; and many dear nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Though his battle with cancer was brief, David's heart and love remained unwavering until his final moments. He poured his heart and soul into his family, his career, and all of his endeavors, leaving a legacy of happiness and joy wherever he went. David will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his memory will be cherished forever. Visitation Tuesday, April 8, 2025, from 2-8 p.m. at the Wasik Funeral Home, Inc., 11470 Thirteen Mile Road (West of Hoover) Warren. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from 10 a.m. until an 11 a.m. Sharing of Memories and Closing Prayer. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
