Cynthia E. LaBudde

Cynthia E. LaBudde, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024 in Detroit, MI at the age of 75. She was born in Hamtramck, Michigan on February 15, 1949 to the late Joseph and Antoinette (Kawka) Mowinski. Cynthia is survived by her loving husband Clarence and was the dear mother of Paul (Deanna) LaBudde, Kelly (Art) Daggett and Kevin LaBudde. Cynthia was the loving and cherished grandmother of Alex, Aiden and Brielle and dear sister of Carol (Ted) Bloomhardt and the late Tony Mowinski, Josephine Mowinski, Paul Mowinski and Patricia Mowinski. Cynthia is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. She met the love of her life, Clarence, on a blind date in the fall of 1969. It was her third blind date in two weeks. When she learned of his name she thought it would be another dud blind date (her words), however, she couldn’t of been more wrong. She always loved telling people the story of how they met. They were married on August 7th, 1970. After a few years of being married they began their family. Her children meant the world to her. As a devoted mother, she always put herself last. She sacrificed anything for herself to fully support her children and family. She put having a social life on the back burner. At one point, she had three jobs to help support her children’s education costs as they reached higher education. She was involved in all aspects of their life. This didn’t stop when her grandchildren came along. She was very involved in their care during their early years as their parents worked. It was important to her to have family involved in their upbringing rather than daycare. She never failed to support them by attending their extracurricular activities, making their favorite food when they visited, giving them hugs, or playing any games with them, including nerf gun war. Cindy had several passions. She loved plants and flowers, both inside and out. She mastered care of her outdoor flower gardens and lawn. No one else could take care of the lawn the way she did. She mastered this as a result of all she learned from her grandfather. He gave her a green thumb. In some way her care for it also reminded her of all the times she spent with him. She also loved hummingbirds. It mattered to her that she had God’s beautiful creation to view while she enjoyed her time sitting on her front porch with her husband. Something they did often. There she could view all her flowers, lawn and hummingbird feeders. Her love of flowers existed in the house as well. Every room in the house has some form of plant in it for her to care for. Lastly, she loved walking. It was one of her staple daily exercises and was one love that never stopped, no matter how she was feeling. Cindy will always be remembered for the love she had for family, for her strong will, and contentment with where the Lord had her at every stage of life. She never complained and persevered through any challenge life through at her. Visitation for Cynthia will take place at the Wasik Funeral Home, Inc., 11470 Thirteen Mile Road (West of Hoover), Warren, on Monday, March 25 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Scripture Service and on Tuesday, March 26 from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m, with a Scripture Service at 7 p.m. Instate Wednesday, March 27, 9 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. funeral mass at St. Blase Catholic Church, 12151 15 Mile Rd, Sterling Heights.
