Charles Lawrence Greene

Charles Lawrence Greene, born June 27, 1931, passed away on April 3, 2019 at the age of 87. Charles, also known as "Larry", attended Annunciation High School, was class president and graduated in 1949. Mr. Greene proudly and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Upon completion of his service to our country, Charles furthered his education with college courses and eventually secured a position with IBM working for over 40 years as an administrator in marketing and sales. Charles was a devout Catholic who loved the church and spending time with his family. He kept busy with a multitude of activities, including a passion for bowling, swimming, camping, and spending time with the family pets. In his later years he enjoyed traveling the world and visiting relatives in the Carolina's. When back home from traveling, he was very active with his St. Ronald community attending daily mass, distributing Holy Communion to the home bound, and officiating services at local funeral homes. He was an avid sports fan with a passion for U of M football, the Detroit Tigers, and coney dogs. Charles never stopped volunteering. He received an award from AARP for 30 years of service providing tax preparation for the senior community. Loving and devoted husband of the late Cheryll for 53 years. Dear father of Cynthia Nita, Janet (Dr. Gilbert) Berenguer, Mark (Jacqueline) Greene and Nancy (Daniel) Bernardon. Dear grandfather of Sabina (Wojtek) Kolodziej, Lydia (Nicholas) Jakovski, Aleksander (Melissa) Nita, Allyson Berenguer, Ensign USN Collin Berenguer, Jennifer (Matthew) Vander Els, James Greene, Danielle, the late 1st Lt USAF Curtis (Colleen) Berenguer and great-grandfather of Sebastian, Tatiana, Claudia and Benjamin. Dear brother of the late Leonard (the late Patricia) Greene and also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Visitation Sunday, April 14, 2019 2-7 p.m. with a 4 p.m. Rosary at the Wasik Funeral Home, Inc., 11470 Thirteen Mile Rd. (west of Hoover Rd.) Warren. Instate Monday, April 15, 2019 10 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Ronald Church 17701 15 Mile Rd. Clinton Twp. Entombment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either The Capuchins or Hospice of Michigan.
