Amy Marie Kienitz

Amy Marie Kienitz passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026, at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. She was born in Southfield, Michigan, on August 19, 1974. Amy's life was defined by faith, family, generosity, and service to others. For 25 years, she shared a loving marriage with her beloved husband, Erwin. Together they built a beautiful family and raised three wonderful children, Ian, Danielle, and Brielle, who were the pride and joy of her life. A devoted member of her parish, Amy faithfully served for many years as a catechism teacher, helping to guide young people in their faith and sharing the values that she lived each day. Her dedication to children extended far beyond the classroom. She volunteered at her children's grade school long after her own children had graduated, always willing to lend a helping hand wherever she was needed. Amy possessed a remarkable gift for caring for others. She donated her hair multiple times to Locks of Love, helping children facing cancer and other medical challenges. A talented crocheter, she lovingly created countless handmade blankets that she donated to Project Linus, bringing comfort to hospitalized children. Her beautiful creations also became treasured gifts for newborn babies and cherished contributions to church fundraisers throughout the years. Amy was also an extraordinary cook whose meals brought family and friends together. Those fortunate enough to gather around her table knew that her secret ingredient was always love. Whether preparing a holiday feast, celebrating a family milestone, or simply sharing an ordinary meal, Amy made everyone feel welcomed, valued, and cared for. More than anything else, Amy's greatest devotion was to her family. She was the heart of her home, the center of her family, and the quiet strength behind those she loved. The kindness, compassion, faith, and integrity she instilled in her children helped shape them into the remarkable young adults they are today. Family was never merely a priority for Amy—it was her life's calling. In turn, her family surrounded her with the same unwavering love and devotion, a testament to the countless lives she touched and the love she so freely gave. Amy made everyone around her a better person. Her gentle spirit, generous heart, and steadfast faith will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. She is the beloved wife of 25 years of Erwin Kienitz. Loving mother of Ian, Danielle, and Brielle Kienitz. Loving daughter of Agnes and the late Robert Brewer. Dearest sister of Robert (Claudia) Brewer, Randal (Candace) Brewer, Alisa (Richard) Young, Rhonda (Ryan) Glasgow, and Amanda Brewer. Dear daughter-in-law of Erika and the late Ernst Kienitz. Loving sister-in-law of Monika Kienitz. Loving aunt to Vincent Brewer, Elijah Brewer, Joseph, Jason and Janee Brewer, and Job and Benjamin Glasgow. Amy is further survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family and friends. Visitation Friday June 19, 2026 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7 PM Rosary at the Wasik Funeral Home, Inc., 49150 Schoenherr Road (north of 22 Mile Road), Shelby Township. Instate Saturday June 20, 2026 from 11:30 AM until Noon Funeral Mass at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church 280 E. Square Lake Road (e. of Livernois), Troy, Michigan. Amy will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery on Monday June 22, 2026 at 10 AM at Resurrection Cemetery 18201 Clinton River Road (n. of 17 Mile Road), Clinton Township.
