To Our Community
We at the Wasik Funeral Home want to make information available to those that need it. The current health crisis in the State of Michigan being caused by the Corona Virus has put us in a position where we have had to make some temporary changes as to how we handle funeral services.
We want those that choose our staff and facilities to feel safe in the space that we provide. Cleanliness has always been a priority to us but we have instituted a more stringent regiment with our staff to ensure that all hard surfaces are continually wiped down with disinfectant and that the buildings are deep cleaned after every visitation. We have antimicrobial hand soaps in each of our restrooms and hand sanitizer stations positioned around each of our funeral homes.
In addition to this policy and in staying within the Michigan Executive Order issued by our Governor we will be limiting access to the funeral home to no more than 10 people per room. We also acknowledge that the recommendation from the CDC is that we limit crowds to no more than 10 people per room. We will be limiting access points to only one door per location and our staff will monitor rooms to make sure that they aren't in violation of the state's mandate. In following along with guidance of the Michigan Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association we have temporarily suspended our policy on allowing food and beverages in the funeral home. At this time it is also required that all those in attendance wear a mask or face covering while in the building.
We are offering several options to the families in regards to planning funerals for their loved ones including online arrangements as well as video chat and teleconferencing to make funeral arrangements. We would encourage families to contact one of our funeral professionals to explore options and are now including, at no additional charge, the ability to live stream the services for their loved ones.
We regret that we have to make these temporary changes and will suspend these changes on advice from the State and National health departments. We thank you for your understanding in this matter, we will get through this together.
